Current acceleration methods are being delivered through three architectural options; asymmetrical , symmetrical with hardware , symmetrical with hardware and software. However, while each option provides value, they each have their shortcomings:
1. Asymmetrical solutions only accelerate outbound traffic to the user The answer to all of these shortcomings is Acceleration On-Demand from Stampede Technologies. Acceleration On-Demand, when implemented with the Stampede Application Acceleration Series, provides all the value of two-sided acceleration, while solving the shortcomings of the previously described acceleration methods. Acceleration On-Demand is the industry’s first two-sided acceleration technology that does not require installation of hardware or software at the remote user, and enables acceleration for enterprise users, partners, suppliers and customers. This unique Acceleration On-Demand technology improves the performance and ensures the delivery of network-intrusive HTTP, SSL, AJAX, XML and SOA applications in enterprise environments. Acceleration On-Demand provides all of the bidirectional Layer 7 HTTP/HTTPS acceleration functionality of previous Stampede offerings, but does not require installation of client software. AJAX and other enterprise applications can be “accelerated on demand” – without requiring a conventional WANoptimisation controller at every location.
Acceleration On-Demand - How it Works Once an application has been AOD-enabled, all users that access that application will automatically be accelerated. The first time the application is accessed, the appliance will automatically inject the AOD technology into the response being returned to the user. This injection technology is equivalent to an ActiveX Control, and once accessed by the user, will always provide full acceleration for that application. All future accesses to the application, as well as other applications that have been AOD-enabled, realize full bi-directional acceleration. |
